Beware of scams impersonating others and against deceptions
Dear Clients & Investors,
In response to the Hong Kong Police Force’s goal of “Beware of Scammers, Start with You”, China Merchants Securities International Company Limited and its subsidiaries (“CMSI”) should take the social responsibilities to help remind the public of the ongoing suspected scams activities (e.g. phishing SMS messages, fake WhatsApp group or fake APP) involving fraudsters impersonating to induce others to transfer money to their (personal) bank accounts for investment and/or completing their forged investment forms to obtain personal details, etc.
CMSI hereby reminds all clients and investors to pay attention and stay vigilant against deception.
1. In order to protect your privacy and asset, we advise you to remain vigilant and take the following precautions:
(a) Do not reply any suspicious news or link. Please be noted that CMSI would not guide you to join group chats or recommend stocks via SMS message;
(b) CMSI will not send any instant electronic messages (e.g. SMS, WhatsApp, WeChat, etc) to customers with embedded hyperlinks to acquire bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information online, unless arising from requests by the customers;
(c) Make sure that APP are downloaded from our official website (https://www.cmschina.com.hk/) or any official application store;
(d) Do not enter your personal or account information on any unverified website; and
(e) If you receive any suspicious phone call, please record the information of the caller, e.g. name, relevant department and position, telephone number or email address etc, and contact the relevant institution to verify the identity of the caller. (Note: Please do not verify the identity of the caller only based on the caller display, or directly using the method provided by the caller.).

3. If any person attempts to claim himself/herself as a staff of CMSI and requests for your personal data and/or your bank information whilst inducing you to invest in any investment product and/or transfer money for the investment, stay vigilant and verify his/her identity by contacting us if you are in doubt. You may also report the suspected crime/scam activities to the local law enforcement authorities. CMSI reserves the right to discharge its responsibilities through legal means when fraudulent activities are identified.
