Launching of HKD Equivalent Purchasing Power

In order to provide our trading services to you in a more convenience manner, our company is going to launch HKD Equivalent Purchasing Power function on our online trading platform on Aug 1, 2020.

HKD Equivalent Purchasing Power is the total value of all applicable currencies(*) and securities' margin value in different markets in the securities account calculated as Hong Kong dollar equivalent purchasing value. To provide more flexibility to our valued customers in utilizing their account's assets, this value could be used to purchase Hong Kong stocks, Shanghai/Shenzhen Stock Connect (eligible shares), B shares and US stock markets.

For implementation of new functions, please upgrade your trading software. For details, please feel free to contact your account manager or our Customer Service Department at (852) 3189 6368 for enquiries.

Remarks (*) : Please refer to our company's website for Reference Exchange Rates. Non-core currencies will not be included to the calculation of purchasing power.

Decommission of CMSHK Online HK Stocks Trading Platform (Old Version)

In order to optimize customer's online trading experience, the new version of online trading system "CMSHK Financial Platform" has been officially launched last year which provides one-stop online trading services for Hong Kong Stocks, Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, B Shares and US Stocks markets.

Disabling the trading password

Dear Valued Customers:

In order to simplify your login process while comprehensively improve the data security and security of online trading service, we are upgrading all Internet trading platforms to disable the trading password for your online login, effective from October 21, 2019. This means your 2FA login along with your login password is sufficient to protect your online trading account such that your trading passwords would render an unnecessary login process.

香港交易所就滬深港三地交易所股票市場互聯互通計劃（滬深港通）的北向交易推出投資者識別碼模式（北向交易投資者識別碼模式）。該識別碼模式將於2018年9月26日（星期三）推出。

China Stock Connect Northbound Investor ID Model

HKEX announced the launch of the investor identification model for Northbound trading (Northbound Investor ID Model) through its Mutual Market Access programme with the exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen (Stock Connect). The model will be launched on 26 September 2018 (Wednesday).

In order to enable us to provide you with Northbound Securities Trading Services under the China Stock Connect after the implementation of Northbound Investor ID Model, you are required to provide us with a valid Personal Information Collection Statement (“PIC Statement”) concerning China Stock Connect Northbound orders. You may directly download the “PIC Statement” from our website for completion.

Change of account name of the designated sub-account in ICBC (Asia)

To enhance client money protections, effective from 16 July 2018, the account name of client's designated sub-account in ICBC (Asia) will be changed as below.

Existing Designated Sub-account Name: Customer's English Name

New Designated Sub-account Name: China Merchants Securities - Customer's English Name

The account number of the designated sub-account in ICBC (Asia) and terms of services will remain unchanged. Fund deposit will not be transferred successfully if client is still using the existing designated sub-account name after the effective date.
